ABOUT

Founded in 2016, Asas Foundations specializes in advanced screw pile solutions for piling, underpinning, and anchoring at both new and challenging locations throughout Victoria. We work in close partnership with architects, engineers, builders, and concreters to develop innovative, cost-effective, and time-efficient solutions, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards as specified in AS2159-2009.

KEY STAFF

Asas Foundations is led by Kana Verumandy and Suraya Nasrom. Kana Verumandy is an ex -BHP trained geologist and ex-Halliburton trained petroleum engineer but currently specialises in developing and implementing ground improvement technologies and geotechnical foundation systems with extensive experience in Australia and Southeast Asia. Suraya Nasrom is an accountant with extensive audit experience.

Asas Foundations provides piling, underpinning and anchoring solutions to foundation problems across a diverse range of building and construction projects. We have been involved in creating innovative, cost and time effective solutions. In many cases substantial benefits are gained by using our foundation solutions compared to traditional piling methods. These benefits include the speed of operation, vibration free installation and greater profits. The system is uniquely simple and offers a cost effective alternative to traditional deep foundation techniques. Common construction equipment can, at low cost, be modified to install Asas Screwpile. The system is environmentally friendly and restricts potential damage to adjacent structures by eliminating vibration during installation.

Advanced Screwpile Load Testing and Design Validation

We have developed a cutting-edge screwpile system that accurately measures end-bearing and skin-friction capacities during installation. Our equipment records axial stress, lateral stress, and pore-water pressure at both the pile tip and shaft, while applying axial load to determine the ultimate capacity in real time.

  • Using our specialized testing rig, we identify the optimal pile length to meet structural safe working loads.
  • With extensive experience, we’ve seen how designs often overlook real ground conditions—especially in saturated clays where failures can occur during construction.
  • To ensure safe, AS2159-compliant designs, we conduct static load testing on a trial pile, analyze the results thoroughly, and fine-tune our final designs accordingly.

DO YOU WANT TO WORK WITH US

We are looking for young intern engineers to train them. If you have recently completed your your bachelor or masters degree with excelent civil/geotechnical engineering knowledge, send us your CV and we will call you back.
